Publisher Description
If the tether falls, it won't just break—it will tear the planet apart.
Air Command pilot Nova Whiteside is assigned to guard Skyranch Twelve, a massive orbital station anchored to the surface by a space elevator—humanity's most ambitious engineering feat, and its most vulnerable target.
The rebels want it destroyed. The Commonwealth leaders want it protected at any cost.
Far from the discipline of Air Command air fields, the frontier garrison runs on fear and brutality, and Nova quickly finds herself at odds with a ruthless commander. When a violent uprising cuts her off behind enemy lines, her only ally is Djari—a civilian whose faith in the Union has been shattered.
But the real danger isn't on the ground.
Aboard Skyranch Twelve, something is wrong. Cargo moves without record—and no one asks why. Protocols are ignored. And when Nova uncovers what's really happening on the station, she realizes the rebellion may only be the beginning.
If the tether falls, it won't be an accident.

Nova the great.
Chris paints a good picture. Although no Seth ran , Nova is a strong lead in a field of writing that is so male dominated one series is often a clone of the next. This story deals with a topic in particular that female readers will know all to well that effects the sole plot from just a few pages all the way to the last paragraph. And one that needs a this kind of light shone on it.
The story in this heroines path is a SciFi and a good mystery all in one . It's a solid read with a level of writing that isn't at grade 8 level . A nice change.
I found it tedious in some spots due to the detail being a bit much to digest mentally . However it's a great find and I look forward to more from Nova.Hopefully her one missing element will be filled there, a calm for her storm of chaos.
