Slay-Ride

Frane Lewis, a ruthless space pirate and hired killer, boards a small freighter and methodically murders the crew to claim his payoff. But when he reaches the captain's control room, he finds the navigator still alive, and his clean escape turns into a tense standoff that exposes the fragility of his plan. Cold, arrogant, and certain of his own skill, Frane forces the wounded man to help him suit up, boasting that the ship and its air supply will keep him alive until his accomplices arrive. As the navigator needles him with the possibility of betrayal, Frane begins to suspect his employers may have intended to sacrifice him after the job was done. He vents the ship's air, expecting to watch his victims die, only to discover that he has trapped himself in a sealed, silent craft. With oppressive heat building, isolation closing in, and the suit's gauges showing strange readings, Frane's confidence gives way to claustrophobic terror as he realizes too late that the real danger may be the "safe" environment he trusted.
