Small-town girl Eva and bad-boy Cage (previously seen in While It Lasts) make a steamy duo in this addition to Glines's Sea Breeze series, which offers little unexpected, but plenty of explicit sex, yearning, and misconstrued signals. Eva has already been through a lot, having lost both her mother and her first serious boyfriend, Josh. When she meets Cage, a talented baseball player with a wild side, she's surprised that she falls so hard for him, and so fast. She's sure Cage is the one for her, until her father is diagnosed with terminal cancer, and Cage, away at college on a baseball scholarship, turns up in compromising photos. Devastated, Eva finds comfort with Josh's twin brother, Jeremy, even as Cage vows to win her back. It's clear from the beginning where this relationship is headed; the writing is often overdramatized and clich d, the many sex scenes full of flicked nipples, invading tongues, and wet panties. It'll fit the bill for those looking for a quick, raunchy read, but anyone seeking a story with real legs should look elsewhere. Ages 16 up.

Review:
Abbi Glines once again did not disappoint at all. From the second I started reading Sometimes It Lasts, I was hooked. I loved the characters Cage and Eva from the first novel, however; they were not my favourite sea breeze couple (Preston and Amanda were were tied for first) so I was a little skeptical about another book for them. Boy was I wrong. This book was amazing and I can understand now why they needed a second book. Both Cage and Eva were faced with difficult challenges throughout both of their novels. The only thing that stayed constant for them was the love they each had for each other. This novel explores the changes they face in their lives and how to make their love last and relationship work.

Cage York is a dream of a man. As I said earlier Cage was not my favourite male from Abbi's books. That quickly changed and he is now among my top men. We first met Cage in Because of Low, he was the womanizer and playboy baseball player. In many ways, Eva changed him, for the better. Gone is the playboy and womanizer he was. Eva found a way to get into this bad boy's heart and now he's not letting her have it back. Cage took a huge step forward in this book and stepped up. Their are many situations in this book where Cage has a hard time, however; he stays strong and fights for what he wants and matures a lot along the way. Cage fell for Eva very quickly and he wont let anything get in the way of that.
Eva is the sweet southern belle, who fell for the bad boy. Well at least that is what he was in the first book. Eva faces a ton of challenges in this novel including a sick father, and leaving Cage in college so he can pursue his dreams. Throughout the novel, Eva, puts her faith in Cage and trusts him enough to manage a relationship while being away from one another. Their relationship faces many ups and downs and gets tested quite frequently. Eva, unfortunately can't deal with that pressure any longer. Cage won't take no for an answer and he won't back down.
"We've been working on our always since you walked into my world with a cocky swagger and a smile."
Cage changes his life so that he can be around for Eva in one of the hardest moments of her life. He works hard and proves that he loves Eva and that she was and always would be..his.
"There were still times that it surprised me that she didn't get it. The moment she walked into my life nothing remained the same. My reasons for doing things changed. My life had a much bigger meaning."
I loved seeing all of the Sea Breeze crew again. They all appear to be happy and moving forward into the future. I love seeing how happy everyone is and what they are all up to. Preston and Dewayne of course are still funny as always.
Overall, I loved Sometimes It Lasts! I experienced many things well reading this novel. I was teary, anxious, happy, mad and downright emotional. I was so ecstatic with how things turned out. I just hope that in the future novels in this series we get to see more of Cage and Eva and the rest of the sea breeze gang. If you haven't read the Sea Breeze series yet, you need to right now. If you don't you will never get to meet Jax Stone the hot teen rocker, Marcus Hardy the heartfelt college student, Cage York the playboy baseball player, and of course Preston Drake the womanizer who turns out to have a heart of pure gold.
You need to read this novel if not you will miss out on Cage York and his dirty mouth!

Too many grammatical errors. Surprising for an Abbi Glines novel. Predictable story and Eva's character is quite selfish. Good read none the less. Love Cage York!
