Speed's End

Short story, Science-fiction. In the near future, humanity has lost the race to save its home world. The Earth has become too toxic to support life. In a last, desperate attempt to perpetuate the species, humans have created a vast, sealed city with which they hope to colonize a new world, some distant day. For one man inside this city, the spirit of freedom overrides everything else - perhaps even his own survival.
