Spotlight on Brazil

Spotlight on Brazil introduces children to the country of Brazil, where almost half the population of South America lives. From sandy coastal beaches to dense Amazon jungle, Brazil is home to the second longest river in the world and the world’s largest flood plain. It is also host to one of the biggest celebrations in the world—Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. Children will read about the daily lives of Brazilians in the city and find out why the way of life of native peoples in the Amazon rain forest is being changed forever.
