Starshine and Sunglow

Can three determined kids and two very strange scarecrows save the summer sweet corn?

Ben, Kate, and Foster create two super scarecrows to protect Mrs. Flint's corn crop from the animals that feed on it, but soon the scarecrows seem to take on a life of their own.

Armed with an old mop, a stubby broom, and borrowed castoffs from every house along Flint Farm Road, the trio stages a summer-long defense against blackbirds and raccoons.

Before long the odd couple appears to march right down the furrows side by side.

Soon the silent figures begin to act like a real family guarding the rows.

One threatened sweet corn patch. Three kids rallying an entire country road.
