Grab the tissues before you start
Grab the tissues before you start, because this one’s an emotional roller-coaster. After reading the first book in this series, I should have been expecting to be hit by the big emotions the author writes about. Somehow, I walked into this book in no way prepared for what it asked of me. Kace and Tara are both starting over in their own ways. They’re dealing with fears and feelings of inadequacy, and they’re doing so in ways that don’t serve them. Reading this book, I was torn between wanting to hug them tight while promising to make it all better and shaking them to try and rattle some good sense into their stubborn brains. I love the ending they’re able to achieve and all the lessons they learn from it, but holy mackerel, did they ever make me work for it. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for the other Ryker brothers.
