Louisa Valentine is a new to me author. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I’m happy I took the chance. From the opening descriptive words until the end, I was hooked. Jack and Sarah are work colleagues in PNG. From the moment they meet there are sparks of chemistry between them. Sarah and her husband are having problems conceiving and are drifting apart. Jack and his wife have two children but married young and are in a comfortable relationship. Sarah and Jack work together not acknowledging how they feel until one fateful NYE. By this time Sarah’s husband has left her and has returned to Australia to work. Sarah, not wanting to ruin Jack’s family, makes the sacrifice to leave her soulmate and return to Australia to make a new life. Her life takes her to London and Washington to work but her heart is irrevocably locked up because of her love for Jack. This was an emotional read with many emotional subjects such as infertility. Sarah and Jack stayed true to themselves and their families and put the needs of others before themselves and their own happiness. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
