In the submarine complex he and his fellow crew members have discovered, Ryan Nash has got hold of a new power cell for the stranded space probe SURVIVOR. Now he must find the rest of the crew and the ship itself to take them home. In an attack by the Overseers, who are pursuing him, the wall is breached, and Nash escapes into the outer sea. Aided by his strange ability to breathe under water, he finds the unconscious Maria and rescues her. Ryan has scruples to return home with Maria alone, but she persuades him by declaring that she is pregnant - with his child. They encounter their teammate Ai and a strange girl who looks like a younger image of herself. Little Ai offers to show them the way to the place where their ship is waiting. The way leads through a tunnel filled with water - and with living dead.
