Sweetly Broken

Some people spend their entire life running. They might be running towards something or as fast as they can in the opposite direction. At times, they are running with no destination in sight because it has been happening for so long that it just becomes a part of who they are.

Kelly Sloan has been running since the day she returned home from school to discover an otherwise normal day would be the beginning of this race she never intended to run. It all started when she instinctively distanced herself from the emotionally catatonic mother who was there to greet her on that fateful day and self preservation forced her to keep that same distance in so many other areas of her life. The exception to this has always been Julian. He is her best friend’s brother - a constant and stable presence since the day they met.
