Takagi-Ryu Chugokui Mokuroku

The teachings of the founder of the Takagi Ryu ,Takagi Oriemon Shigenobu , continue to be practiced today by thousands of martial artists. Drawing on both historical and modern Japanese texts the author presents a history of some of the major figures in the lineage of the school. A full reproduction of the Chu Gokui Mokuroku scroll of the Takagi Ryu written in 1844 is presented for the first time, with full translation thus providing a unique opportunity to those with an interest in traditional Japanese martial arts, as well as practitioners of branches of the school that continue to this day.
