Sweet and Sultry
I received this book in advance in exchange for my honest review. Shannon has been my favourite romance author for years. Her books are always sexy, fast paced and emotional. I find that she is able to combine sexy tension with true romance and intense emotions very well. This book is no different. It is shorter than her traditional books which makes it an easier fast read if you like that. If you are more into longer novels, check out her other full novellas which are amazing. The McCloud series are my all time favourite.
But back to this book, it is a sweet read with a strong female lead and a brooding male counterpart. The suspense and loving parts are still always present. I finished it in one sitting as it was hard to put down and beautifully written. If you like your romance stories short and sweet with a twist, this is your jam!
Stunning conclusion
Delightful conclusion to the Men of Maddox Hill series. Tall, Dark and Off Limits is rife with mutual unrequited yearning, strong, vibrant, capable characters and just a bit of danger.
Ava is a PR master and a force to be reckoned with. She is savvy, energetic and committed to her work. Her current enterprise is an eco project with clients that are also close friends of hers. Ava is launching an opportunity at a trade show for potential investors to see the scope of their work. This is at risk for Ava, as an internet troll has escalated his threats against her. What began as hurtful name calling and slut-shaming has increased in intensity, leading to vandalism at her home. As such, she turns to her brother's best friend, Zack. He's in charge of security for her Uncle's firm...and is also the man she's had feelings for for years.
Zack has also been into Ava for years but as she was his best friend's younger sister, he felt she was off limits. But when she comes to him with her security issue, all bets are off. Zack is forceful but also soulful. He won't compromise when it comes to Ava's safety, but always listens to her concerns, even if they don't agree.
A fast-paced, sexy read full of Mckenna's trademark heat. Wish it wasn't the last one!
