3.75 stars-building mystery and suspense
3.75 stars—TELL ME TO RUN is the fourth instalment in Charlotte Byrd’s contemporary, adult TELL ME erotic, romantic suspense serialized novel. TELL ME TO RUN is the continuing story of Nicholas Crawford, and Olive Kernes. TELL ME TO RUN should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events of instalment number three TELL ME TO STAY.
SOME BACKGROUND: When an unknown benefactor pays off Olive Kernes’ student loans, our heroine doesn’t question but soon discovers that the mystery donor is looking for something more.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Olive and Nicholas) TELL ME TO RUN follows in the aftermath of an attack against Olive’s brother Owen. With Owen in the fight of his life, Nicholas and Olive’s relationship struggles to survive. Secrets are revealed forcing Olive to reconsider her future when our couple is tasked with one final assignment, an assignment that hits too close to home for our story line heroine.
TELL ME TO RUN is a story of secrets and lies; of perceived betrayal; of revelations, family, heartbreak and pain. Charlotte Byrd continues to build upon the mystery surrounding Nicholas Crawford, and his need to pursue the tasks at hand.
NOTE FROM MY PREVIOUS REVIEW: Reviewing a serialized story is difficult at best; a battle to remember the previous information especially when each instalment is one month apart. I have to recall and reread my earlier reviews in an effort to remind myself about what happened, so far. Here’s hoping the author releases TELL ME as a single story line.
Details are important
The details in the story are not accurate. The location of the safe they broke in, changes from one chapter to the other. First, it’s in the wine cellar. Later, it’s in a closet. And the author is self-praising a lot during her books. As if she were The modern version of Jane Austen, PLEASE!! 🙄
