Publisher Description
The popular Victorian romance series continues, from a New York Times–bestselling author who "can make you laugh and cry—on the same page" (Julia Quinn, bestselling author of the Bridgerton series).
Poppy Hathaway loves her unconventional family, though she longs for normalcy. Then fate leads to a meeting with Harry Rutledge, an enigmatic hotel owner and inventor with wealth, power, and a dangerous hidden life. When their flirtation compromises her own reputation, Poppy shocks everyone by accepting his proposal—only to find that her new husband offers his passion, but not his trust.
Harry was willing to do anything to win Poppy—except to open his heart. All his life, he has held the world at arm's length . . . but the sharp, beguiling Poppy demands to be his wife in every way that matters. Still, as desire grows between them, an enemy lurks in the shadows. Now if Harry wants to keep Poppy by his side, he must forge a true union of body and soul, once and for all.
"A sharp-witted and sharp-tongued heroine closely guards the secret of her past from an equally determined hero with a few secrets of his own in the latest sinfully sensual, superbly written addition to Kleypas' wickedly funny Hathaway series." —Booklist (starred review)
"An unforgettable story peopled with remarkable characters and a depth of emotion that will leave you breathless." —Romantic Times Book Review on Mine Till Midnight

Too many side characters
I love an ensemble cast on tv and movies, but in books especially a romance I find it takes too many pages away from the main characters thoughts, feelings and journey. Instead I get a info dump from a side character who knows all.
The book is light which I enjoy but the lack of space for the main characters makes it too light, I feel like I hardly know or care about them which is a shame since they are lovely and intriguing characters.
I’d love to see cameos from other characters from previous and beloved books but no more than a page or two. More from the mains please I want to know them.
Underwhelmed, skimmed most of it and did not finish, not worth retail price, grab it used in hard copy instead.
