I look forward to receiving input for my "Old Guard" and trivia pages. I would like to acknowledge two items received recently. One is from Bob Ringma, author of the highly entertaining Full Monty in Korea. He shares my concern over the tendency of some senior officers to disregard dress regulations and wear their berets "a la francaise"--with the cap badge centred over the left ear rather that in its proper place over the eye. Significantly, this mode of wear seems to be popular among many of the francophone officers--is there a hidden message here? While on that topic, I also share my antipathy with a lady who complains that senior air force officers have no idea of the correct way to wear a wedge cap, as they insist on wearing it in the centre rather than tilted to the right as laid down in dress regs (U.S. influence?).
