Before anything else, there was darkness. Not absence — ground. The thing that gods and demons and humans alike have been standing on since before any of them had names for what held them.

The Abyss Codex I weaves nine mythological traditions — Hindu, Chinese, Japanese, Egyptian, Norse, Greek, Roman, Mesopotamian, and Celtic — into a single, continuous voice that quotes nothing but itself. Across thirty-nine chapters, gods trade boundlessness for names, demons refuse to kneel, humans become the most dangerous and most free beings in any cosmos, and a presence beneath all of it is felt, never named — because naming it would make it something smaller than what it actually is.

This is not a retelling of myths. It is what the myths were always pointing at, stripped of their borders, returned to the one source every tradition drew from without admitting it.
