Publisher Description

One of my favorite quotes from my mother was when I was graduating college in 1993. For a graduation gift my parents wanted to give me some money for a down payment on a car. I didn’t want a new car. I wanted to travel - specifically a month in Europe with my college friend Susan. My mother responded, “I don’t see why you want to go all the way to Europe to see the countries, they have them all at Epcot Center in Florida.”

From this firm footing in the Delaware Valley, to exotic shores of Asia, this narrative describes the adventures of our family as we embarked on our adventure to China in August 2012. Initially intended to be written to document the Hardy boys’ (Harris, John and Charles) experiences, the blog evolved into an all-encompassing look at the world from the perspective of a tai tai, in this case an expat trailing wife in China – something I would never have predicted given my relatively narrow view of the world growing up.

Join us on our journey - from a glimpse into the daily life of an expat, to a view on wildly different living conditions. This eye-opening experience was never dull, sometimes humorous, and forever etched in our minds, shaping our perspective on how we view the world.
