The Amateur Army

"The Amateur Army" is a book about maturing as a soldier based on the author's experience. Like many Englishmen, he was unready for WWI's challenges but ready to join the army as the war was declared. In his training camp, he went through hard experiences which transformed raw rookies into finished fighters.
