The purpose of the book is to give, to those who have a failing or failed business on their hands, helpful information in knowing when to close it down; encouragement in taking that step if needed; and that if they choose to close it down, to let them know that they have more options available than just declaring bankruptcy. It shows how a "self-managed liquidation" very well may be a better option than a bankruptcy, and why. It also is the story of how the author went through his own self-managed liquidation, every step he took going through that process, how he overcame the obstacles and struggles that came at him from every direction, and describes the keys he found and used that helped him handle each aspect of his successful business. It is the story of one who stepped into the darkness, and pulled the light in after him.
