The Best Gift Ever‪!‬

The Best Gift Ever!, the first book of The Adventures of Sugar Series, a young boy named Nick who loves adventures is seeking a companion. For his birthday he receives a blonde Cocker Spaniel puppy named Sugar. 

The Adventures of Sugar are based on a series of true stories. Just like in the book, The Best Gift Ever!, Sugar was a gift as a companion dog to a boy named Nick. 

Nick suffers from Aspergers.  Aspergers is a form of Autism. He is high functioning and has worked hard to defeat the odds.  Autism presents a unique challenge. A child with Autism does not connect well with his or her environment, mainly in communication and in forming social relationships.

Children with Autism are often nonverbal, or when they are verbal they usually do not use the skill to actively communicate with other people in their environment. Aspergers children often find themselves alone, needing companionship.
