The Bojabi Tree

In the Great Wood, a starving company of beasts discovers a mysterious fruit on a tree no one can name, and their only hope is to journey upriver to King Leo for the answer. Robin Rat, Pinky Pig, and Giddy Goat each make the long, exhausting trip and learn the same crucial word—Bojabi—only to lose it on the way home, undone by fatigue, impatience, and the chaos of their waiting companions. With each failed return, the story builds comic suspense while underscoring the cost of haste and the power of memory. At last, Tommy Tortoise volunteers and succeeds by turning the king's answer into a song, carrying Bojabi home intact. The beasts finally feast on the fruit, and Tommy Tortoise is crowned king in a celebration of patience, cleverness, and polite perseverance triumphing where speed and strength could not.
