STORYTELLING AT ITS BEST FOR TWEENS & TEENS

- FAITH & FAMILY FRIENDLY -

Many feet walked over the high meadow and into the deep canyon. There were the hooves of horse and deer and of elk and moose. There were the added feet of the wolf, the coyote, and the smaller animals, along with the claws of the tortoise and the talons of the eagle. Also, there were the soft and quiet moccasins of Bluebird and her friends, who, along with others from the village, walked the canyon and had many stories to tell. Some of their stories could be here.

Then, many years later, thirteen-year-old Caitlyn and her family walked in the same footsteps and had their own stories to tell. Some of them would be very different and others much the same.

This exceptionally researched historical fiction series for tweens and teens combines stories from the present day with those of the settlers pushing West in the late 1800s and from the lives of the Kiowa Indians a century earlier.

Volume 4

In Volume 4 of the Footsteps in the Canyon Series—enjoy reading these awe-inspiring stories.

1.The Canyon of the Bison

This hunt was only for the seasoned and successful hunters. Eagle Plume knew this and watched with longing until the hunting party was out of sight. As he turned to walk away, Bluebird and White Dove passed by without even noticing he was there. That’s when he decided to plan his visionquest. It was time to become an important person with a job to do.

2.The Story of Many Blankets

Fawn Girl sat on the pointed rock and chuckled to herself as she had a new thought. There would be a powwow before the next snow, and when all of the clans were gathered, there would be many handsome braves who came to look at the maidens of her village. And, well...who could know what could happen...?
