THE COMMANDER

Lena McKinney is the Commander.

Two years ago, Lena tried to be both a woman and a cop—it didn’t work out. Leading Florida’s Emerald Coast SWAT team means commanding fifteen elite officers through high-risk operations where discipline is absolute. In Destin, her rule is simple and uncompromising: everyone gets out alive.

Now her ex-fiance is back in town and her SWAT team has been assigned to protect him. Andres Casimiro is in Destin to open a Justice Department bureau, but death threats from the Red Tide cartel have marked him for execution. Guarding him on the tarmac is strictly a security assignment—she intends to treat it that way.

Facing danger beside her unit is second nature—facing the only man she ever loved is another battle entirely. Much as she’d like to walk away, Lena will do her duty, keeping her true feelings buried.

But that’s before the shots are fired….
