Wrongly charged with treason, nineteen-year-old Edmond Dantes is secretly imprisoned in an ancient stone fortress on an island. Those dearest to him—his father and his fiancée—do not know his fate. Edmond vows that if he ever escapes, he will avenge himself on those who falsely accused him. Will Edmond ever see his father again, marry his fiancée, and get his revenge? Or will he spend the rest of his life in prison, far away from those he loves?
