"Meticulously crafted and razor-sharp. The Couple Next Door lingers long after you turn the final page." —Harlan Coben, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Fool Me Once
Anne and Marco Conti seem to have it all—a loving relationship, a wonderful home and their beautiful baby, Cora. But one night when they are at a dinner party next door, a terrible crime is committed. Suspicion immediately focuses on the parents. But the truth is a much more complicated story.
Inside the curtained house, an unsettling account of what actually happened unfolds. Detective Rasbach knows that the panicked couple is hiding something, and both Anne and Marco soon discover that the other is keeping secrets—secrets they've kept for years.
What follows is the nerve-racking unraveling of a family—a chilling tale of deception, duplicity and unfaithfulness that will keep you breathless until the final shocking twist.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
While at their neighbours’ house for a boozy dinner, suburban couple Anne and Marco leave their six-month-old with the baby monitor on. They return to find their daughter gone—a living nightmare that sets off a chain reaction of shocking betrayals. Shari Lapena’s debut thriller is a methodical, nerve-wracking examination of motherhood’s hardships and the vulnerability inherent in every marriage. A frighteningly relatable psychological thriller full of clever twists, The Couple Next Door is what to read after The Girl on the Train.

Different read
A bit different than your standard thriller… more dry in its delivery than sensational and twisty. The characters are unlikeable, and I mean that in the best possible way. You get to sit with them in their most tense and uncomfortable moments while the story unfolds.
The excitement!
Cant wait to get to the next page🤭
