First baby of the New Year...delivered by a cowboy!
When Wyoming cowboy Brice DeWitt placed an ad for a housekeeper-cook at his Flying D Ranch, he expected a sturdy, mature woman--not a petite, pregnant applicant who was about to deliver on his doorstep.
Madison Carlyle needed his protection...and his name. But an isolated Wyoming ranch in the middle of winter was no place for a new mother and child. If he let them stay, he risked his heart. But if he sent them away, would he miss his best chance at having the one thing he'd always wanted? A family?

The Cowboy is a Daddy
An easy read.
The Cowboy is a Daddy
This book was fantastic! It starts off getting your full attention with a very pregnant Madison Carlyle showing up for her job as housekeeper/cook at the ranch of Brice DeWitt. She'd applied without knowing how to cook but needed to hide so thought a ranch in the middle of nowhere was perfect. When she got there just before midnight on New Year's Eve, in the middle of a snow storm Brice thought her car had broken down, never suspecting she was the housekeeper he's hired. On top of that she was in labor.
Things happened so fast that Brice had to deliver the baby. Maddy convinced Brice to let her stay. As time went on she was still worried about her and the baby being found so proposed to Brice. He agreed to marry her but makes sure she understands it's only temporary. Since his mother and ex-wife couldn't handle ranch life and left, he suspects Maddy will too so he protects his heart by telling her it's a temporary relationship.
Brice falls for both mother and baby, not wanting them to leave. Maddy is in love with him too but doesn't let on. This is a well written book with an unusual plot that I didn't want to stop reading and never wanted the story to end. The author did a great job at developing these two and giving us a great story full of love, trust and angst. Whenever a character had to do something they weren't experienced with it was sooooo funny - whether it was Brice and the baby or Maddy trying to cook. Brice's terror of the infant is hilarious. I just broke me up.
This is a great book and I'm so glad I got a copy in exchange for my honest review. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
