Publisher Description

This volume contains four works of John Dos Passos: Three Soldiers, One Man’s Initiation–1917, Rosinante to the Road Again, A Pushcart at the Curb, and a polemic by his father, John Randolph Dos Passos, on U.S. recognition of Cuba.  He often opposed his father’s published positions; his father did not acknowledge him until age16.

He was a volunteer ambulance driver in Spain and enlisted in the U. S. Army Medical Corps during World War I.  He viewed the United States as two nations, one rich and one poor. He went to Spain during its Civil War, but broke with Hemingway over the war and Stalinism.
