Best friends Sammie Stadler and Rahul Patil start investigating after their fifth grade classmate Dylan's house disappears. You'd think everyone would be shocked and worried about a disappearing house, but not in Malsman Lake. Dogs turn into Komodo dragons, cats sometimes live on the ceiling, and cotton candy has been known to make kids fly.  When a portal to another dimension opens in Sammie's little brother's closet, she and Rahul must race to find a way to close the portal before an eggplant-shaped alien invades Malsman Lake and takes over the world!
