The Enchanted Forest

During the 1960's, Constance Shore ("Connie" to her friends, but "Nanna" to her grandchildren - of which I am one) lovingly wrote and hand-painted fairy stories for her grandchildren.  These she would read as bedtime stories, and we were utterly captivated.


This is the story of a young shepherd called Lyko, who - helped by a Wozzard (the first cousin once removed to a wizard) - must go on a long and perilous journey through the Enchanted Forest in order to win the hand of the Princess Meleta.…
