The Fairy Tale Bride
We've met Lisa Renee in so many of the Marietta bride stories that it is nice to finally see her get her own happily ever after. Overall I enjoyed this story; I gave it 3 stars, however, because I thought that some parts of the plot could have been thought through more carefully and realistically. I felt the premise of the lottery win and fame because of it hanging over him to be a bit of a stretch, however. These days a million (I'm assuming this is the amount because at one point the book stated "could have spent his million dollars") is not much and for a million dollar lottery winner who moves hundreds of miles from the big city where he won to be remembered and recognized by the press months later, and for the reporter to be speculating whether he perhaps knows the "celebs" who are in town for the wedding, is pretty farfetched. To make his concerns over being recognized for his lottery win seem more valid, it would have had to have been a much more spectacular lottery win, in my opinion. The saving grace for me was Lisa's character development - losing her baby sister to leukemia and then losing her other sister years later when she ran away with Lisa's fiance - you can see how these experiences have shaped her to be the person she is today.
