The Fallen Empire series: the adventures of Alisa and Leonidas
Thanks to a BookBub offer I purchased this on a whim and it gripped me from the get-go. Perfect for Star Wars fans who love strong female protagonists. Alisa, a recently widowed pilot for the rebel Alliance that has defeated a tyrannical Empire, needs to search for her daughter, Jelena, kidnapped by renegade Starseers, a mysterious mind-control cult. But she keeps getting side-tracked by her passengers’ quests. Aboard her ancient rusty freighter are two men loyal to the old Empire, an evil doctor with a magical orb who seeks to overthrow the Alliance, and a conflicted cyber-warrior, for whom Alisa feels a growing connection, who saved the heir to the Empire and now needs to find him. Also amongst her ‘crew’ are an ingenious female engineer, a herbalist who is the daughter a Starseer but has none of their powers, and the brother of the renegade Starseer who kidnapped her daughter. A motley ‘crew’ thrown together by circumstance sought by all sides. The first three adventures on their quest will keep you mesmerized. Can’t wait for the next in the Fallen Empire series.
Fallen Empire Books 1 - 3
Excellent intro set to this series, recommended to all Sci-Fi readers. Riveting reading!
Sarcastic characters and endless action
As usual, Buroker took me in a journey with Whitt and sarcastic characters. The best part is... the series keeps going!
