The Five Find-Outers

Follow Fatty, Bets, Pip, Daisy and Larry, with Buster the dog, through 15 village mysteries. Burnt cottages, missing necklaces, strange messages and other puzzles give the young detectives plenty to investigate, often with Mr. Goon close behind. The complete sequence runs from The Mystery of the Burnt Cottage to The Mystery of the Banshee Towers. The cases offer hidden rooms, odd letters, missing people and the occasional clue that looks far less important than it turns out to be. Fatty’s disguises and the group’s arguments about suspects bring humor to the investigations, while Bets and Buster often notice things that others overlook. The recurring village setting makes the club feel familiar even as each book introduces a new puzzle. Readers who enjoy trying to solve a mystery before the characters do can follow all 15 cases in order here. The collection ends with The Mystery of the Banshee Towers and gives every mystery its own book-level starting point.
