If you love Regencies with humor, wit, and fun, Downton Abbey and Jane Austen you’ll love The Five Kisses! This novella is the first book in the Sweet Deception Regency series and there's lots more to come. The question in The Five Kisses is: can the daughter of a professor with a very small estate interest the heir to an Earl in not just love but marriage? When 13 year old Chad stands up to a bully and rescues a kitten, Gillian saves him from a beating. A thank you kiss surprises them both. If she was older than 9, she might have fallen in love with him right there. But then…" The journey from friendship to love in this traditional Regency will warm the heart of any reader.

Short and sweet
Loved it!
It was short and sweet. I hate when authors drag it along but this one was just great.
I do wish the author had continued a bit more with the story. Perhaps another book?
The five Kisses
Perhaps novella would be a better descriptor.
The opening section is stiffly larded with detail but too much "telling" and not enough "showing" (via dialogue or action) to make an enticing beginning. A nice idea for a plot. No real character development. Perhaps 2 of the chapters could have been written from HIS point of vie, thus giving a chance for Chad to be a dynamic character.
A sweet story. Not memorable.

This is a lovely story
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did
