He created works in many genres, but mostly famous for his science fiction novels "The time machine", "The invisible man" and "The war of the worlds". He is considered to be the father of science fiction. "The Food of the Gods" is fantastic novel with satirical elements, describing England in the 19th century. It was written in 1904. The action of the novel starts in a small village, where two scientists make experiments: they feed chickens with food which make them grow big and strong in a short period of time.
