The Furies (1950‪)‬

Excerpted from John DiLeo’s Screen Savers II: My Grab Bag of Classic Movies, “The Furies (1950): Mann of the West.” Noted for its volatility, the suddenness of its violence, and its unmistakable strain of incest, The Furies is quite a show. It’s a peak picture for most of its contributors, notably the best of Barbara Stanwyck’s eleven westerns (not to mention her television series The Big Valley).
