The Grocery Sack Killer

Someone is hunting the women of Porterville. And the body count is rising.

Detective Sergeant Magnum Schultz prefers the cool darkness of graveyard shift to Porterville's blistering summer heat. But when she discovers the body of a murdered teenage prostitute, her routine patrol becomes the beginning of a chilling investigation.

The killer's signature is unmistakable: plastic grocery sacks pulled over his victims' heads and a bullet to the skull.

As the body count rises, Magnum goes undercover, determined to stop the murderer before another woman dies.

Meanwhile, hard-bitten bounty hunter George Rooney is tracking his daughter's fugitive ex-husband when he encounters Marisa, a young mother whose troubled life—and two small sons—unexpectedly awaken his latent protective instincts.

But Marisa is about to discover just how close to home a killer can strike.

As Magnum's investigation and Rooney's manhunt converge, the clock is running out.

The killer has chosen his next victim. She knows too much. And unless Magnum and Rooney get to her first, she's about to take his secrets with her to the grave.
