Praise for The Happiest Baby on the Block
“Dr. Karp’s book is fascinating and will guide new parents for years to come.”—Julius Richmond, M.D., Harvard Medical School, former Surgeon General of the United States
“The Happiest Baby on the Block is fun and convincing. I highly recommend it.”—Elisabeth Bing, co-founder of Lamaze International
“Will fascinate anyone who wants to know how babies experience the world, and wants to answer their cries lovingly and effectively.”—The San Diego Union-Tribune
Regardless of the quality of the information in this book, the prose is infuriating and I can’t read another word of it. Endlessly repetitive, padded with testimonials and epigraphs on every page, and patronizing (to mothers, as well as members of various African societies, and maybe even to horses). This could have been a charming and informative poster, or perhaps a short brochure. It is easily 10 to 15 times too long. I also hate the illustrations. I would suggest reading the summary and considering yourself informed.
