Publisher Description

An unlikely friendship...could it become something more?

Striking out on her own for the first time, Alison is a barn manager extraordinaire with a reputation for flawless horsemanship. Unfortunately, she might have underestimated the challenges of running a farm on her own. Teaching beginners to ride is the only thing keeping her little stable afloat...but Alison is holding tightly to her dreams.

When she agrees to take on a Hollywood has-been in need of cowboy lessons, she only has two goals in mind: earn enough money to keep her fledgling training stable in business, and make the payments on a horse she can't live without. But Cary Davies, former child-star, brings a sunny, devil-may- care attitude to her strait-laced stable that has Alison equal parts charmed and confused. And as she finds herself growing closer to both Cary and the heart horse she's bet everything on, Alison finds herself facing the past that has made her who she is today, in hopes of finding a fulfilling tomorrow.

This friends-to-lovers romance is a poignant and big-hearted journey for a horsewoman searching for meaning, filled with summer evening rides, break-of-dawn farm chores, and the thrill of training and showing horses.

The Hollywood Horse

Alison has always found pride in her hard work and determination. She has invested well and has been able to leave her job as the highly efficient Barn Manager of a prestigious show barn - to buy her own modest training spread.

She toils away at her one person operation, as her aunt taught her to do in her child and teenage years, when Alison lived with and worked for her aunt on her aunt’s training facility. She lives by the motto, “the horse always comes first” and though she takes excellent care of her equines, she does this while ignoring her own needs.

She doesn’t give this motto a second thought until she meets Carl. Carl is an actor who needs to learn to ride for his next film project and Alison is hired to teach him to ride convincingly. The more time she spends with this joyful man, and he begins to work beside her on the farm, the more she begins to question whether she is truly happy or content.

It is a wonderful story of relationships, the equestrian world and self reflection. I enjoyed the book immensely!

Note* I was given an advance copy of this book to review, but that in no way affected my honest review of the book.
