Wow what a story . The author Christina Hovland wrote a gripping story. It has everything you need to, rom com moments, drama , mystery and a delusional stalker .

Heroin is Lucy. Hero is William . I loved the scene where William has to interact to a chicken costume, the chicken has me laughing so hard .
Lucy has to move to another city , another state because she’s getting feelings, , signs that someone is after her Both William and Robbie meet Lucy . Lucy doesn’t know what to do. Robbie shows he only wants to be friends but later on he wants to be more but shows nothing outwardly

What did Robbie mean with this ; Robbie moved closer. “Hold still. I’ll be fast. You won’t feel much. Wait for me on the other side. I’ll be right behind you. Promise you’ll wait for me on the other side.” Grab it and find out.

The tension! The drama! The comedy! Over and above all those, this was so cute and sweet, even if Lucy and Will often made me question whether I wanted more to shake some sense into them or hug the stuffing out of them. They knew each other a long time ago, but both of them are very different people now from who they were back then. Lucy’s made some pretty significant physical changes, while Will’s worked hard to develop better mental and emotional resiliency. Mind you, they’re still both carrying a bunch of old baggage that they haven’t dealt with. Including a potentially deadly situation that’s followed Lucy. This book had all the feels of the best contemporary romances, the laugh out loud moments necessary for a true rom-com, enough family drama to run a soap opera, and the chilling suspense lifted from the pages of a thriller. Now, my fingers are crossed that we’ll get the chance to come back to Confluence to read more about the zany cast of characters that surround Will and Lucy.

Chapter one opens with a hilarious bang, or rather situation which continues as our two main characters meet. Not so much a meet-cute as a meet-rescue (ish) where you see William’s softer side and Lucy’s resolve. And land lady Dixie is a right hoot!
Christina Hovland strikes the perfect recipe for a good book - sweet, sexy, cute and funny with the perfect dash of suspense thrown in! She writes incredibly vivid characters who pull you in and pull you along. Lucy and Will are no exception.
The story of Lucy and William is just non stop hilarity as you battle between sympathy and laughter for the awkward situations they find themselves in.
You feel the pull of attraction between them, and Lucy’s desire to resist but also to give in. And when the steamy scenes start, whooo-eeee open a window to cool down! Things get hot with them!
Christina’s secondary characters are hilarious and extremely well-written as well. Dixie, the elderly, spry and not-so-gun-shy land lady, Lucy’s gregarious friend Katie, the silent-but-insightful bodyguard Neilson, and let’s not forget the shenanigans of Mitzy the cat!
As for the suspense, it’s masterfully written. It’s not a separate plot, the suspense supports the plot. It’s masterful and extremely well written and key to Lucy and Will’s story (not to mention their happy ever after).
Lucy is an incredibly brave heroine and Will supports her bravery. It’s wonderful.
This book is brilliant. If you love rom-com, with a hint of danger and suspense, then you will absolutely love this book!
