The IPA Quran: A Transliteration Of The Sacred Quran With Tajwid Into The International Phonetic Alphabet
Publisher Description
Converting the oral content of the Sacred Quran into a recognisable written form has aided learners in
memorisation since the beginning of its recitation on earth. Existing Arabic romanisation standards
today however, fall short in capturing the nuance distinctions between similar Arabic sounds. The
International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) was established in 1886 to provide a consistency to the written
representation of phonetics across languages. This book maps the Quran and the most frequent Quranic diacritics to the language, providing the first IPA Quran transliteration of its kind.
