She seems to have a connection with the guy who found her, and threads that of the unknown tie her to Amy Lynne of the Massachusetts State Police. Amy is not willing to let Jane carry on without explanation. She wants answers. But tiny, fractured bits reveal images too disturbing to contemplate, and Jane wonders if sometimes it is better to leave the past forgotten.
