Eric Peterson, at 14 years old, should be facing exams, bullies, and acne. Yet here he is facing his best friend Tom, who died 2 weeks before. Tom tells Eric that he was killed, then robbed from the grave, and brought back to life by Aliens to be experimented on. He hands Eric a device which he used to escape from the aliens, which is something they would do anything to get back. Tracked down by the aliens, Eric believes he and Tom are killed, when really he’s transported to a planet in a distant galaxy. He sets off on an adventure, making friends with mystical creatures, a Thief, a King, and a beautiful Princess. He has to help rid their planet of the same aliens, find Tom, and fulfill a 1000 year old destiny.
Lost and Found, at around 110,000 words deals with changing realities, building friendships, the first blush of love, making tough decisions, and facing up to the consequences of their actions – all the things the modern teenager has to come to terms with as they enter the first throes of adulthood. It’s specifically written in short, action packed chapters, aimed at capturing the minds of today’s 13-15 year old cyber-adventuring male teenager, along with established readers alike. It leaves the reader elated at the victory gained, that the hero and his allies are safe, but with a niggling desire to see if there is more to the tale.
