Human nature is indeed filled with it’s mysteries, some in which devour the soul, and sometimes even our friends. Learning the rather unceremonious elements of “heritage” and family will change the life of college freshman Corey Brookshire in ways that he could’ve never imagined. After all, college is supposed to be his one opportunity to escape his hometown in East Texas, or else be relegated to moving back and working in town basically forever. It is also where he’ll end up making lifelong connections in the form of new friends and roommates, if an old family tradition doesn’t threaten to derail him first.
