“A shepherd’s hut, twenty-four hours, a stranger…” It’s not the perfect start to Gemma Winters’ new life—another man is the last thing she needs after the suffocating control of her ex. But, when she finds herself isolated with a ruggedly handsome stranger, the demands of her body take over.

Since his wife died, Callum Mackenzie’s relationships have been strictly practical, with his only real love affair being with his land. But his family wants him to re-marry and he wants heirs. When Gemma turns up, he begins to think marriage might not be such a bad thing after all.

Their twenty-four hours of passion has shattering consequences—marriage, and two people forced to face their worst fears…

The marriage

This book was all over the place. Starts out good then runs out of small talk so throw the characters in bed. Then she says no to safe sex, gets pregnant then insists on her freedom? Runs off from her wedding to a dilapidated house, climbs through a window where a gangster she never mentioned to her husband waits. Also, what husband lets his pregnant wife run to a house like that on their wedding night? Then the X boyfriend gets free and lands in the water?? Drowns? No one knows.
Then after all that she still won't stay home. It's late everyone has fought a fire and she wants to go stay elsewhere and it just gets more crazy from there. Made your lead man a wimp and lead lady into a nut case. Good story if you could have pulled it together. PA was almost derailed but ended before any damage was done. I'm nervous about buying the cowboy one.

A Mack to read

I was trap reading this story in a good way of course.
Gemma has a hard kick attitude. Callum a protector but least patience. Towards ending was a little hesitant to how it ends.
