A Wintergreen resident goes out for his morning walk—and never comes back.

Retired detective Bill O'Shea thought he'd left crime behind when he moved to the peaceful mountain community of Wintergreen, Virginia. But that peace is shattered when an elderly man is killed in a hit-and-run. Accident—or something far more sinister? With the Wintergreen police department stretched thin, Bill is asked to lend his expertise.
