A man is found beaten to death in a cellar where he'd held a series of women captive over the years. All of them are dead, except The One That Got Away.

During the annual ice wine festival the body of an ice fisherman is found frozen in the lake, and is wife--a feral cat rescuer, is found stabbed. Do their deaths have anything to do with the gruesome death of a viticulture student, whose body is found crushed in the hydraulic grape press? 

As Niagara police search for the escaped woman in the full glare of the media spotlight, DC Lucy Gauthier's investigation looks for a connection between the murders and the missing woman. Can she find the killer and help save The One That Got Away?
