Howard Phillips Lovecraft was an American author, writer who achieved fame after passing away. He is known for influential works of horror fiction. 

The Other Gods is a short story that was written on August 14, 1921, published in November 1933 and it tells about Barzai the Wise, a high priest and prophet who learned in the lore of the “gods of the Earth”. One day he attempted to scale the mountain of Hatheg-Kla along with his young disciple Atal in order to look upon their faces.
