Howard Phillips Lovecraft (20 August 1890 – 15 March 1937) was an American writer, who is well-known by his horror fiction. Lovecraft started wrote fiction being a child ("The Beast in the Cave" (1905), "The Alchemist" (1908)). He was the founder of “Cthulhu Mythos” by his short story “The Call of Cthulhu”. His works had influenced on modern public culture. Also, was founded the subgenre “Lovecraftian horror”, that emphasizes the horror of the unknown. 

“The Outsider” is a short story that was written by Howard P. Lovecraft between March and August 1921, it was first published in “Weird Tales”, April 1926. Some critics have suggested that "The Outsider" is autobiographical, and that Lovecraft was talking about his own life when he wrote, "I know always that I am an outsider; a stranger in this century and among those who are still men."
