The Panmerican

a newly married couple sets out on an ambitious hitch hiking venture from the states to south america in the late 70's. the trip is initiated with comic zeal, but no professionalism. the narrative grows as the trip progresses through the different places, people and events that they encounter. the couple reaches the goal of quito, ecuador, but has sold or lost many of their belongings along the way, just as they have shed most of their original misconceptions. a humorous book, told in a literary, synchronized way by its cuban born author.
