Publisher Description
The Phurlo Diaries are a fictional record of the early life and times of Paul “P*d” Phurlo, a likeable young fellow born July 3rd, 2013. His diary recounts his early years growing up off the grid in the hills of western North Carolina, and describes his adventures as a conductor on the “Underground Light Rail”, a 2030’s version of the Underground Railroad. P*d helps passengers escape the oppression, repression, and pollution that engulf America after the economic apocalypse following the 3rd and 4th Obama administrations. P*d’s diary ends as he turns 21 in 2034 and seeks new opportunities beyond an America that has become little more than a colony of China. This sardonic tale was penned by a furloughed federal worker on his furlough days (hence P*d’s name). Frequently profane, sometimes touching, always quirky and unconventional, The Phurlo Diaries capture and express the frustration of the average American with our dysfunctional government.
